Melanie Simboli (Co-Owner):

Melanie’s experience in leadership and creativity comes from her participation in sports, education, coaching and volunteer work.  For the majority of her life, she has found herself to be passionate about participating and coaching a variety of sports.

*Gold Medalist & World Champion: She had a five year career on the U.S. Freestyle Ski Team, winning over 75 medals and a Gold Medal at the 1988 Calgary Olympic Games (the debut of the sport of freestyle skiing in the Olympics).  She continued for another year to pursue her dream of becoming the 1989 World Combined Freestyle Champion.

*Coaching and Teaching Credentials: At a young age, she enjoyed teaching over 2,000 children to swim, spent several years as a counselor at various camps and eventually became a camp owner herself on the ski glacier of Whistler, B.C.  After graduating with a  Bachelor’s Degree in Education, she worked very hard to become the first woman to obtain her  level  3 coaching certification in both disciplines of freestyle skiing;  moguls and aerials. Her coaching credentials include: director of the Freestyle skiing programs at NCD in Ottawa, Canada, the director of the Holiday Valley Freestyle Team in New York and the director of the BBSRA Freestyle program in Idaho.  She was head coach for the 1999 and 2003 Canada Winter Games and was the Ontario Provincial coach for three years. She has coached over 1,500 skiers and nine of those skiers have gone on to have very successful careers on the World Cup circuit themselves (1 athlete was the silver medalist in Salt Lake Olympics, 1 athlete is the present World Champion and has several world cup wins and 2 athletes won medals at the X Games and seven have participated in the Olympics).  After residing in Boise for the past seven and a half years, Melanie and her husband, Chris work cooperatively with Bogus Basin and Tamarack Ski Resorts, running their own freestyle / freeride ski programs to over 70 participants… including their two children.
